I would have to say that in my 30+ years in the U.S. I have never made anything using whole grains. I’m Asian so it would be awesome to learn how to integrate and use whole grains in everyday baking. Although I would have to admit, I’d like to learn more about using it in bread and pizza dough. I have never made bread or pizza dough, but I have made cookies and cakes and bars. I guess to me bread and pizza dough is a “scary” thing to make. In addition, I would make my mom very proud if I learned to make bread because she loves to eat warm bread and she has been asking me for the longest time to make her a loaf. So I guess in a way I want to surprise, not only myself, but my mom that I can make an American classic: bread. Thanks.

I would love to learn how to make bread and pizza dough using whole wheat. I would have to say that in my 30+ years in the US I have never used whole wheat products to make my cakes, bars, or cookies. I would love to learn how to use it in breads though. I guess the only reason I haven’t made bread or pizza dough is because I’m scared. My mom has been asking me for the longest time to make her a loaf, but the fear in me takes over and I can’t get over it. So I would like to surprise myself and my mom by making her a loaf of whole wheat bread.

  • Jan Tzortzinis

When I first married my husband, 43 years ago, he loved whole grain
breads and I couldn’t stand anything but white. On a trip I did buy
some stone ground whole wheat flour from the mill which ground it. It
came with a recipe. I started baking that and we enjoyed it. Well I
quit that a long time ago. We bought both white and “wheat” bread at
the grocery store. Lately I have wanted to eat healthier and have taken
to going to the bakery and buying whole grain bread. My favorite is a
nine grain bread that they only bake on Wednesdays and I cannot always
get there. I would love to get back into baking bread and of course I
want it to be whole grain. I am looking forward to checking out the
    book.
