happy holidays – grafton village cheese co. giveaway

A couple of months ago Ben and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Vermont and you heard all about it here on the blog.  I’m still thinking about all the fun we had, the amazing food we ate, and of course, the awesome cheese from Grafton Village Cheese Co.  I’m excited to share my love of cheese with one lucky reader, so I’m giving away this Vermont Comfort Crate gift basket.  It contains 7 oz wedges of Tavern Select 3 Year aged, 4 Year aged and Maple Smoked cheddars, a jar of Side Hill blackberry jam, Effie’s Oatcakes and a Grafton Village wire cheese slicer in a Vermont wooden reusable crate.

To enter, leave a comment on THIS POST telling me what you would do with some fabulous Vermont cheese.  Eat it straight?  Make fondue?  Maybe mac and cheese?  I want to know!

The Rules: One entry per person, U.S. residents only.  Commenting will open Thursday, December 22 at 04:30 am EST close on Friday, December 23 at 10:00 pm EST.  Entries that do not follow the entry requirements will not be considered.  One winner will be selected at random and contacted via email later this week.  Good luck!

  • Jen

I would have to definitely use it in my ham and cheese chowder recipe… a ladel of that in a homemade bread bowl???? Heaven.

  • Suzanne

I would use a little for bacon cheddar scones then save the rest for snacking!

  • Sareduf

Well I love a great mac and cheese, but chipotle cheddar scones are my fav as well. And if the cheese is really good just eat it straight!

  • Lisa

I love eating cheese straight or with crackers!

  • LisaH

Grilled cheese and with crackers. I love a little crunch with something as smooth as cheese!

  • Thia

These cheeses sound wonderful. I’d make grilled ham, turkey, and cheese panini with some of the blackberry jam too. Yum!

  • Sharon

My husband is so homesick this time of year for New England where he was raised. I would wrap it up and shower him with love! And, of course, help him eat all this great cheese with homemade crackers.

  • Rachel

Shred it and add to chili, soups, burritos, you name it!

  • OMG Vermont Cheddar–there is nothing better! I think I would make apple scones and serve the cheddar on the side, or even a nice apple crisp. Apples paired with sharp cheddar make both ingredients taste their best. To be shared with a neighbor who is getting chemo for her third Cancer attack. (She loves my scones, they make her smile.) I would serve the oatcakes slathered with the jam to my partner who loves blackberries in any form–maybe save until Valentine’s day as he is still eating the blackberry truffles I just made as a Christmas treat.

  • Heather Spooner

I would eat it on some crackers. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love cheese! I’d probably eat the Maple Smoked cheddar straight and would likely make an ooey gooey mac and cheese with one of the other blocks. Now I’m hungry :]

  • Catherine

Cheese is always yummy to just eat as is, but fondue is so tempting!

  • Laura

A decadent mac and cheese for the family. This sounds wonderful!

  • Sharlynn

I’d probably plan on making a fondue but end up eating half of it before it ever gets made… We love cheese…

  • Tiffany O.

I would make mac and cheese, cheese biscuits and just snack on it! I love cheese!!!

  • My 2 year old would want to eat it straight, but I’d have to say we’d try a new mac ‘n cheese!

  • Eat it straight & if I have any left, make mac & cheese.

  • Renhair68

My favorite way to eat good cheddar cheese is sliced on melba toast… LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

  • Chelsea

I would definitely cut it up and eat it (try not to eat ALL of it that is).
