5 Years of Annie’s Eats – KitchenAid 5 Quart Artisan Stand Mixer

Five years ago, just a few weeks after starting my blog, Ben bought me my first (and only) KitchenAid stand mixer.  At the time, I remember thinking that it seemed pretty pricey for a mixer and I wasn’t sure I would use it enough to justify the cost.  I find this positively hysterical now.  On a good week, there isn’t a day that passes when I don’t use my mixer, and on the bad weeks I’m usually just itching to get back to it.  This was undoubtedly a life-changing purchase for us.  I know that sounds silly, but it’s true!  So, for all of you out there who don’t yet have one of these fabulous things, this is your chance to snag one for free!  (Or if you already own one, maybe you could pass this on to a well-deserving friend or relative?  They’d love you forever!)

    Love the Kitchen Aid Mixer.!! It is the kitchen workhorse. When my husband and I first met, he requested I make a cheesecake but I didn’t own a mixer so it was a challenge to say the least. A couple of years later I bought myself one after getting my tax refund. Within a few weeks, he was kicking himself for not buying me one earlier. 12 years later that 4 quart has done an amazing job of making wonderful creations.     First off….Congrats on 5 years!! I can’t thank you enough for making me a little more confident in the kitchen. I made your tunnel of fudge cake last weekend and my family about died. My 14 year old son said “mom, this is the BEST thing I have ever tasted”. I was positively giddy and we were all amazed at the magic that occurs when the tunnel is created. Everyone was skeptical about the tunnel appearing but I said “Annie said it will work and it will”. I was strutting around like a proud peacock when we cut the first piece and my husband and kids were gathered around the center island to see if there really was a tunnel.

    Anyway….if I am lucky and win I would either choose metallic chrome or ice blue. Hmmmmmmm………

    Annie – I remember my mom getting her first one when I was in 8th grade (1980) – my home ec. teacher was jealous – but gracious. My mom is now on her second mixer in 30 years. I would LOVE LOVE to give her a third – we saw the one that was Hot Pink (boysenberry) and she went crazy!! I have a white one – that like yours – gets used daily.

    I would have to go with the Komen pink, as it reminds me of my grandmothers. One loves pink and is a fantastic baker and the other passed away from breast cancer before I learned what kind of a baker she was.     I dream of the day that I own a KitchenAid mixer. I love to bake and using my mom’s original (yes she has the same one you see in the kitchen of the Brady Bunch) can be a bit of a challenge from time to time. I’m moving and don’t have a kitchen color scheme so I would probably keep it simple and go with cream or caviar. But if I went with a color then definitely Majestic Yellow.

    I would choose the Green Apple. You see, when I got married in 1971 my grandparents gave us, really me, a green KitchenAid stand mixer for a wedding gift. I have almost worn it out, but it still churns up with energy and mixes anything that needs mixing. My mixer is almost 40 years old and still running. Imagine that! My grandparents are both long gone now and I am divorced and remarried, but my mixer still works! It is a bit tired and, as I begin to cook for my grandchildren, I’d love to share a new Green Apple mixer with them while we cook together.

I love that they make a whole line of pink items, it is a great way to support the cause and think of the survivors in my life like my mom and best friend, and remembers those we have lost too soon like my daughter’s best friend’s mom. No matter that it doesn’t match my kitchen, it stands out!

    Hi! I am Michelle, with Decadent Delights and it sounds like I am where you were in the beginning! New business and that “beautiful stand mixer” is definitely needed, but not in the budget! I am creating my Decadent Delights with a hand mixer…As you know, very inefficient! I would really appreciate seeing a bright and shiny CHROME Stand Mixer on my counter..and hopefully in my shop some day soon!
